Epic Life Creative

This one is in Nashville,Tennessee. This company does logos, web, and print. This company interest me more because of the use of different things for showing off their work. Most of the website looks like it is created with flash and html. They show the images by either scrolling up and down, laying on the screen, or coming across. The background of the website is a city with clouds that hover over it by clicking to new pages. It is a unique website and it might be one to look at a little more for the future too.

Yee-haw Industries

This company is in Knoxville,Tennessee. The company has only two people who love art and want to create unique designs. It is a combination of a graphic designer and artist/printmaker. They do posters, shirts, calendars, stickers, and much more. They interested me because most of their work look graphical but with a wood-cut print design. I think they really know what they are doing and enjoy what they create for their clients. This is my fav!

Black Cat Studio

This company is in Ocala,Florida. They also do web and graphic design. I did not like their website very much but the way the images were shown to the viewer were interesting. Most of their work is commercial but not traditional. They have a unique style and really know what their clients want for their business. They create designs for bands, companies, and much more.

Naranja Studio

This firm is in Gainesville, Florida. They do web, print, and video. When I was going through their website, I was interested in the way they portray the icons for each design and how everything pops sideways. They give enough information for me to know what they did and how they help the client with it. A lot of their design is graphic in the print and the web. I like this website and it interest me to look at them a little more for the future.

Tangled Spider Design Group

This design group is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They are a group of different cultural designers that create designs that are unique and visually eye-appealing to their clients. Most of their designs look more traditional than what I thought they were talking about in their website. Other than the informational part, the group's home page is fun by going over the circles that changes colors and sizes. But to enter their actual page you have to click the button in the top, left corner. The navigation buttons will change size when the cursor is over it. I thought this group's website was unique from some of the other graphic design portfolios.

Nate Smith

Nate's portfolio has a popping effect entry page. He does a lot of commercial products too. His prints and web design is traditional, but his prints are visually artistic. I like his prints better than anything else. I was interested in this portfolio because he uses easy navigation, calm, cool colors, and interesting popping effect that made me keep looking at his website.

Jessica Greenwalt

Jessica's portfolio website is informative and sorta whimsical. She is a freelance graphic designer. Most of her work is commercial and illustrations. She makes a lot of products out of her graphics. But it is hard to figure out what is her stuff because she has so many other categories that relate what she is doing on her own time than her own work. This portfolio was not one of my favorites.

Ben Barry

His website is simple an clean. He shows his artwork in the home page and has a couple of links for his information about himself and his blog. When one of the images are clicked, it shows the image, the information about the image, and more images that you might be interested in from the previous one. I like this his portfolio being simple and easy to navigate to each picture.

Andy Warhol

1) For the first drawing, I decided this illustration because of the simplicity in the lines. I liked that it only took a few lines to create the curves of the hair which would usually be the highlights if it was colored in the image.

2) The second illustration, I liked it because it was similar to the first one but a little more sketchy. In this illustration, I can tell what each object is with very few lines.

3) The last image is my favorite one because the image shows a cat in color with very few lines. When Andy created this illustration, it shows a personality with the cat which a sneer but happy look.

Bio-bak

Okay, this one was very interesting! I like the creativity and the weirdest of this website. It is one website that wants you to explore, listen, touch, and move. The whole website is in flash. The beginning of the website is a search and find game to find tools for the tool box. I think the website has some flaws like using the tools from the tool box and sometimes stuff overlapping, but it does not distract from the whole concept of the website. Other than the few problems the designer shows his personality very well in his website.

Chris Spooner

He is a graphic designer who does logos, graphics, web, and advertising. His portfolio interested me because the color choices, simple shapes, and creative graphics. Yodabaz

Yodabaz is an online designer. When I noticed this website, I like the website because he uses flash at the beginning to show a video of himself in the background and the words pop up afterwards. When navigating into the website to look at his portfolio, each image that you pick get enlarged with information and the other images fall to the bottom which I thought was unique and different from what I have learned in other classes. So the creativity and the simplicity is the key.

Kevin Lucius

Kevin Lucius is a graphic designer who lives in Chicago. He does prints, web design, logos, and sign designs. He incorporates his designs into his website by making it look like it has been put together with torn paper and scotch tape. Kevin's websites and logos are more towards the traditional side of graphic and web design, but he does do other artwork that shows who he really is as an artist. The prints are weird and funny. He puts together different images as an image to make it look weird. Most of his work consist of different animal heads with human or mechanical bodies. The color choices are light for the background and more bold for the characters in the front. The prints remind me of the photo collage by Hannah Hoch during the Dada movement and photomontage that we use now.

magneticNorth

MagneticNorth's designs are more based off of the digital design than graphic design. They do a lot of websites that have colorful colors and photos. They also do a combination of digital media and graphic design to together to create a project that is unique to the eye. The website is interesting because when the viewer enters their page they have to draw to discover their projects in their website. Magnetic North gives instructions on how to see them, delete them, cancel them. Their is a mark for seeing the news that they have to offer too. The website is interesting to me because I like the simplicity of viewing their work with just the strokes of certain lines.

Gomedia

Gomedia is a small company in Cleveland, Ohio that gets away from the traditional design ways and design their own personal art. They do logos, illustrations, web, motion, type and many more. I picked this website because the designs of their artwork is personal from each artists that they have in their company. I like seeing companies who do not do the traditional designs that we get droned in our head from professional companies everyday. The layout of the website is simple and very informational for the designs and who they are as a team. Some of the comments from their clients are thanking them for giving them what they want with a artistic feel. My favorite part of the company's work is the illustrations.
